Zinc Financial is a hard money lender in California, funding fix and flip investors, brokers and realtors who need to close faster than a bank will. In January 2019 the company had about 150 clients, nearly all from referrals, and a digital presence that did not match its ambitions: 982 Facebook followers with two engagements a post, 51 on Instagram with no posts, no Twitter, 109 on LinkedIn, and a 3.4 star Facebook rating on 32 reviews.

Google Search was the lead engine, narrowed to California and the keywords investors actually use, with landing pages built directly into the website so a search became a form fill on the same page. Social ran on all four networks with a heavy diet of fix and flip before and after photos, which produced the most engagement on Instagram. Fifty two blogs built the search footprint, and review management on Facebook and Google Business Profile addressed the reputation gap.
